Music Ministry
People from all musical backgrounds are invited to join in music-making at Summit, as choir members, instrumentalists, or members of the congregation. At Summit we do a wide variety of music, from traditional hymns to African praise songs, classical to contemporary. Choir, organ, drums, guitars, piano, vocals, and a cappella singing are all a regular part of worship music. Join us!
Choir
Our excellent all-volunteer choir plays an important role in worship at Summit. Rehearsals are Thursdays from 6:30–7:30 p.m., plus Sunday mornings before worship at 9:15 am. Just turn up!
Musical Guests
Summit welcomes a wide variety of musical guests to perform in worship. Guests for 2010–2011 include Illuminati (sacred music group from the Columbus Gay Men’s Chorus), Meghan Western (dancer and choreographer), Columbus Sacred Harp Singers, OSU Steel Pan Ensemble, Adrian Jusdanis (violin), and Wenda Williamson (harp).
Instrumentalists
Play an instrument? We love to include instruments of all types in worship at Summit, from guitar to didgeridoo. Let us know what you play and we will get you involved.
Recitals
Summit’s sanctuary is a great recital space. We welcome OSU music students and others who would like to give a concert here! Please contact Cheryl Zeigler to check availability.
