About God
We believe in one God, who has revealed himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is love, and that love is the source of everything good.
Who We Are
Our journey is fueled by faith, driven by love, and defined by action.
Summit is a United Methodist Church in Lebanon, OH. We are a movement of Jesus-followers on a mission to love God and our neighbors well. We’re passionate about offering the Lebanon community, Warren County, and the world a genuinely welcoming, accepting, service-minded, and loving church.
All are welcome at Summit. Come as you are.
Summit is part of the United Methodist tradition, which means we hold to the historic Christian faith expressed in the Apostles’ Creed and the Nicene Creed, and we share the Wesleyan emphasis on grace, scripture, reason, tradition, and experience as the way we encounter God together.
We’re not in the business of having all the answers. We’re in the business of walking with people as they ask the questions. Here’s the ground we stand on:
We believe in one God, who has revealed himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is love, and that love is the source of everything good.
We believe Jesus is the Son of God who lived a real life, died a real death, and rose again. He shows us who God is and what it means to be fully human.
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, our trustworthy guide to faith and life. We read it together, wrestle with it honestly, and let it shape us.
We believe every person is made in the image of God, deeply loved, and worthy of dignity — with no exceptions.
We believe the church is people, not a building. We exist to love God, love each other, and love our neighbors in real and practical ways.
We believe grace runs ahead of us, walks with us, and keeps going long after we feel like we’ve blown it. There’s no version of you that grace doesn’t reach.
We sing. We pray. We open the Bible. We take communion together, and the table is open — you don’t have to be a member to share in it. We baptize children and adults. We serve our neighbors. We try to love each other on the bad weeks as much as on the good ones.
If you’ve got questions — about Jesus, the Bible, the Methodist tradition, or anything else — we’d love to talk.
Meet the Team
Senior Pastor
Pastor Steve is a gifted and compassionate leader with deep affection for God and people. Steve passionately believes you pastor the community, not a building, and has bold, God-sized dreams for Summit UMC to serve Lebanon, Warren County, and beyond. Steve is an inspiring teacher and strategic leader who develops and builds others up.
Steve is in leadership and relationship with multiple local non-profits, civic groups, and pastoral groups. Pastoral ministry is a second career for Steve; he spent nearly 20 years in sales prior to answering his call to ministry, predominantly at Johnson and Johnson as a sales executive in Medical Sales.
Steve is from Southwest Ohio. He and his wife Tina are the proud parents of adult sons, Brady and Tate. Steve loves to perform music, enjoys sports, and is most happy when he is with his wife and kids. Steve has his Master of Divinity from United Theological Seminary and his undergraduate degree from Wright State University.
Associate Pastor
Frank is an experienced leader with 30 years of ministry primarily in health care. He is a Board-Certified Chaplain and Clinical Pastoral Educator currently serving in extension ministry as an executive with a local health care system and appointed to Summit UMC as associate pastor. His passion is ministry beyond the four walls of the church — understanding that the sacred work we do is being connected to the community and being the church for all people, especially the underserved and marginalized.
Frank lives in Monroe, Ohio with his wife Tracy and their three adult children, Sophia, Luke, and Micah. Frank enjoys sports, coffee, hiking, and traveling with Tracy (who is a Florida girl). Frank has an undergraduate degree from Lee University, an M.Div. and D.Min. from Church of God Theological Seminary, and is currently working on another graduate degree from United Theological Seminary.
Worship Pastor
Danny is a talented musical artist and worship pastor whose love for God and people is abundant. Danny was raised in a home where music was being played constantly, and he gravitated to singing and guitar early on in life.
Danny has learned the art of passionate worship over the past 20 years, being a part of Christian musical acts and leading worship at multiple churches. He brings a passion for Jesus that overflows in worship through song, and treats each Sunday as uniquely special — he knows the power of music and how it can reach people for Christ.
Danny is a Lebanon native and proud father of twins, Brookelynn and Bailey. Danny is an avid golfer and loves to spend time with family and friends. He is excited to see how God uses his gifts at Summit UMC to reach people.
